Mike Kunkel has been playing the trombone for over 30 years.
He is a graduate of Haltom High School (where Chuck Compher was the jazz band director)
and Texas Wesleyan University. He was the Bass Trombonist for the
Fort Worth Youth Jazz Orchestra while in college. He was a band director at
Treetops School (charter school) and Southwest Christian (private school)
where he created the band programs. He has been an educator for 16 years.
After receiving his Master's of Education from Abilene Christian
he is now a certified principal. He is currently the Assistant Principal at
Arlington Classics Academy.
